Finesse weapons are perfect for Dexterity-based characters, like Rogues, Rangers, and Monks. This is because the Finesse property in Baldur’s Gate 3 allows the character to use Dexterity instead of Strength when attacking and dealing damage, making them extra deadly without having to raise a stat they won’t otherwise use.

These weapons tend to be lighter and more agile – except for a few magical items you’ll find peppered throughout your playthrough. That means that daggers, darts, rapiers, scimitars, and shortswords are a safe bet if you’re searching for your next finesse weapon of dreams.

11 Sussur Dagger

Keep Them Quiet

The Sussur Dagger is a rare dagger that grants you a +1 weapon enchantment to attack and damage rolls, applying the Silence status effect to the target on a successful hit. As many spells and cantrips require verbal activation, Silence can prevent spellcasters from using their arsenal against you, making this dagger a handy little early-game weapon.

The Sussur Dagger can be found in the Blighted Village in Act 1. To get it, you’ll need to complete the Finish the Masterwork Weapon quest and choose to create a dagger in the basem*nt forge.

The Phalar Aluve is a rare longsword with a +1 weapon enchantment capable of dishing out 1d8+1 Slashing damage one-handed or 1d10+1 damage two-handed. On top of this, proficiency with this longsword unlocks the Pommel Strike bonus action and Lacerate and Rush Attack actions. But the pièce de résistance of this spectacular finesse weapon is its Singing Sword trait.

Once per long rest, you can buff or debuff allies and enemies within a six-meter radius — giving them a +1d4 on Attacks or -1d4 on Saving Throws, respectively. You’ll find the Phalar Aluve during Act 1 in the Underdark, near the Selunite Fort, and if you pass a simple Strength or Religion check, the sword is yours.

9 Adamantine Scimitar

Choose What You Craft

The Adamantine Scimitar is a rare martial melee weapon you can make in Grymforge, which grants a +1 weapon enchantment and ignores enemy Slashing resistance. Like all the Adamantine Forge weapons, the Adamantine Scimitar also carries the Diamondsbane trait, making a melee attack with this weapon be a critical hit against inanimate objects.

As previously mentioned, you’ll find the Adamantine Scimitar at Grymforge as part of The Adamantine Forge quest in Act 1. You’ll need the Scimitar Mould and Mithral Ore to craft this weapon.

8 Justiciar's Scimitar

Your Enemies Won’t See You

The Justiciar’s Scimitar is a scimitar with a +2 weapon enchantment, and you can get it as soon as you enter the Gauntlet of Shar in Act 2. Other than the enchantment, the weapon also has a chance to blind your target if you attack with advantage, making it an ideal weapon for Rogues.

To get it, you won’t have to face a difficult fight, but you will need to kill someone. Lyrthindor is the NPC holding this blade, and he is very well hidden within the Gauntlet: he is all the rats that are running around, after all.

7 Infernal Rapier

It Isn’t Exclusive To Wyll

The Infernal Rapier is the perfect weapon for any caster that wants to fight at melee range, since, while it is a finesse weapon, casters can use their spellcasting modifier to attack and damage rolls.

On top of that, you can summon a powerful Cambion with the blade, something few weapons can do. To get the Infernal Rapier, you will have to have Wyll in your party when you find Mizora in the finale of Act 2.

6 Dancing Breeze

Dealing With Groups With Ease

The Dancing Breeze is a very rare glaive with a +2 weapon enchantment, packing a heavy AOE attack as well. Proficiency with The Dancing Breeze unlocks the Rush Attack, Lacerate and Brace actions, as well as its unique trait, the Whirlwind Attack — a punishing spin assault that can strike multiple nearby foes and recharges every Short Rest.

If you seek to add The Dancing Breeze to your collection, you can obtain the weapon from the merchant Exxvikyap in Rivington during Act 3. It takes a while to get it, but the options it brings are worth the wait until the final Act.

5 Rhapsody

Buffing All Of You

Rhapsody might not seem like much, since by Act 3, a dagger with a +1 weapon enchantment isn’t all that thrilling. However, you can push that to +4 with Scarlet Remittance, which adds a +1 to attack and damage rolls for every foe you kill during the fight.

This buff also affects your spell save DC, so it even works perfectly as a side weapon for casters. To get this weapon, you’ll have to slay the vampire Cazador in Act 3, so get your Daylight spell ready.

4 Bloodthirst

Dropped By A Legendary Assassin

This legendary item has many properties that make it a must-have for any Rogue or sneak attacker, since it lets you score critical hits with a 19 or a 20, makes enemies vulnerable to piercing damage, and lets you cast True Strike as an action or reaction.

Furthermore, it also adds a +1 to your armor class, so it becomes a net positive no matter how you look at it. It can be obtained after slaying Orin during your confrontation in Act 3, although, depending on when you loot her body, the dagger you find might be different.

3 Blade Of The First Blood

Looting Orin Early

Functionally speaking, Blade of the First Blood is identical to Bloodthirst, except that it also does extra D4 Necrotic damage with every hit, and when you have multiple attacks, that stacks fast. You can’t have both the Blade of the First Blood and Bloodthirst, since one replaces the other, and it all depends on when you loot Orin.

If you’re interested in adding this to your arsenal, you will want to make sure to defeat Orin in the Temple of Bhaal before killing the Cultists, as looting her body after the fight will change the dagger to Bloodthirst. This does mean that Dark Urge characters can’t get this variant of the weapon.

2 Crimson Mischief

Ideal For Dual Wielders

Crimson Mischief has a lot of conditional damage tied to it, so you’ll need to study this blade carefully if you want to make the most out of it. Other than the +2 weapon enchantment and the extra D4 Necrotic damage, you can also add another D4 against targets below half health, and seven extra flat damage when attacking with advantage.

This short sword also lets you add your ability modifier to your damage rolls of your off-hand weapon, so it is best used by dual wielders instead of characters going for shields. You can get Crimson Mischief by killing Orin with no other strings attached.

1 Duelist Prerogative

The Perfect Finesse Blade

Duelist Prerogative is a legendary rapier that has a +3 weapon enchantment, deals an extra D4 necrotic damage, and makes your critical hits be with 19 or 20 if your off-hand is empty. You also gain an additional reaction per turn, and you can use that reaction to deal necrotic damage each time you hit with an attack.

To get this weapon, you’ll have to be careful not to leave Act 1 too early, making sure that you deal with Aunty Ethel there. Doing so makes her come back during Act 3, and if you complete the questline about that Hag, you’ll be rewarded with Duelist Prerogative.
